Daliya Al-Karmel is a Druze woman from the northern Israeli city of Daliya Al-Karmel. She once ran her own restaurant in this city. However, due to the need to relocate to another part of the north, she was forced to close her restaurant.
Though the fires in her kitchen may have been extinguished, the flames of patriotism in her heart never diminished. Daliya’s love for her country led her from the confines of the kitchen to the frontlines of the battlefield.
When her city’s northern counterpart became a theater of conflict, Daliya began cooking for the Israeli soldiers. She tirelessly traveled between Gaza and the north, delivering homemade meals to the troops. Through this act of service, Daliya expressed her unwavering loyalty to her nation.
The story becomes even more poignant when we learn that Daliya’s own son is also serving in the Israeli military. Both mother and son have dedicated themselves to the defense of their homeland.
Daliya’s tale is not merely that of a chef – it is the story of a mother’s patriotism, a woman’s extraordinary courage, and an unyielding devotion to one’s country. Hers is a narrative that transcends the boundaries of the kitchen, emerging as a testament to the power of unwavering love for one’s homeland.
